University Translators Services (UTS) is an LLC partnership located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Our agency was originally formed by a group of Ph.D. students from the Linguistics Department at the University of Michigan in 1987 in order to offer easy access to professional linguists for language translation and interpretation. University Translators was the first multi-lingual translation/interpretation agency in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Washtenaw County. We proudly celebrated our 20th anniversary in 2007. We can provide you or your organization with all aspects of written translation and oral interpretation; including translation into and from all languages, proofreading, stylistic/technical editing, localization, video narration, linguistic consulting as well as multi-lingual desktop publishing.
The translators and interpreters that comprise our staff include linguistic professionals certified by the American Translators Association (ATA) and the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators (NAJIT). Besides having a certification in written translation and/or oral interpretation all our linguists are degreed specialists in business, law and/or the various technical sciences. Your project's translator or interpreter will be a certified bilingual linguist who is highly experienced and/or degreed in your respective field. We only work with tested and certified translators.

For more than 20 years, University Translators Services (UTS) has
provided translation and interpretation services for all languages. We only work
with translators whose native tongues are those of the target language. All
linguistic experts are court certified or certified by the American Translators
Association (ATA). Upon request, we will supply a resume of the translator for
your project and if desired, a sample translation.
Legal and Technical
Translation
All of our technical linguists hold an advanced
degree in a specialized field; (i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Law,
Medicine, Mathematics, etc.) and have years of experience working in their
specialty fields, preceding their careers as translators and interpreters. This
elite group of language experts can assist you with technical subject matter
translations and interpretations for all aspects of business and legal
communication. For example, if you present us with a German patent, which is
related to the pharmaceutical industry and saturated with chemistry terminology,
your English translation will be performed by our ATA certified German>English
patent translator who holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry. We only work with tested,
highly experienced and certified technical translators.
Confidentiality & Security
We assure you that our staff and operations will
not compromise or divulge your proprietary information or your confidential
documentation in any way. When required, the Project Manager as well as each
assigned linguist will sign project-specific Non-Disclosure Agreements. All
original NDAs will remain on file at our

Document Review
Our experienced reviewers are ready to assist
you with filtering out the information you need from volumes of foreign language
documents before any translation commences. Document review can save you money
by preventing translation of superfluous written material.
Translation Memory
Translation memory allows us to archive
translated content into a memory file and re-use it for future translations.
When a new document is ready for translation, we first run a comparative
analysis to determine number of matches and repetitions that exist between the
new material and the translation memory. Furthermore, we will incorporate a
discount for matches and repetitive text into your cost quotation. If you would
like us to create a custom translation memory for your company or organization,
please inquire with your Project Manager.
Project Management
We will assign a Project Manager to every job,
large or small. Your Project Manager will be responsible for communication,
translator/interpreter team selection, scheduling, file conversion, gathering &
distribution of reference material as well as monitoring our quality control
process from start to finish.
Proofreading / Editing
We guarantee a secondary independent translator
(known as the Proofreader or Editor) will conduct a layer of proofreading on
every translation we perform in order to check for completeness, translation
accuracy, grammar, syntax and style.
Handwriting and Transcription / Optical

Brochures and Business Cards
We provide multi-lingual desktop publishing for all Macintosh and PC based
software applications including, but not limited to CorelDraw, Dreamweaver,
Excel, Flash, FreeHand, FrameMaker, Illustrator, InDesign, PageMaker, Photoshop,
PowerPoint, Publisher, and QuarkXPress.
Certification
We certify and notarize any translation we author. We understand the
importance of having accurate translations, particularly when engaging in a
sensitive litigation proceeding. As such, UTS stands firmly behind its
translations and will provide certifications of accuracy upon request. We
provide certifications in duplicate, free of charge.
